New : Experience an incredible historical adventure, thanks to augmented reality
La Citadelle brings 1,000 years of history to life with its HistoPad visitor companion. Discover our immersive and instructive experience for young and old.

Experience the highlights of the Dinant Citadel through the ages
The Dinant Citadel is offering you a new augmented reality experience. Interactive, educational and fun, the HistoPad tablet is a spectacular immersive experience that lets you explore the Citadel through the centuries and relive the key moments in the history of the fortress and the town of Dinant.
Thanks to 13 time gates dotted around the tour route, you can discover the Citadel in its Dutch period, before it became a military prison, and then delve into the dramas that played out in Dinant during the fighting of 1914.
Included in the ticket price, this tool turns your visit into a real historical adventure, bringing every corner of the site to life.

A fascinating adventure for the whole family
Easy to use, the HistoPad is also an excellent way of sharing the visit with the whole family, allowing everyone to explore the site in greater depth, according to their own interests and pace.
Younger visitors can go on an interactive treasure hunt to find hidden objects, while adults can delve into the military, political and architectural issues of the periods they visit. It's also possible to have your photo taken in period costume, for an original souvenir.
Practical information
Designed to be accessible to as many people as possible, the experience is available in 8 languages: French, Dutch, English, Italian, German, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese. The tablet is offered free of charge to visitors aged 8 and over, during their visit and while stocks last. Visitors with free access can request the tablet for €4/person. Tablets are to be requested and returned in the building at the entrance to the Citadel's central courtyard.
