Via the online ticketing system, tickets must be booked at No need to buy your tickets online in advance. You can buy them directly at the cash desks located at the top and bottom of the Citadel.
If you still prefer to book your tickets, you can do so via our online ticketing service, at least 24 hours in advance (no online purchase the same day).

The main access to the Citadel is by road, with direct arrival at the top of the site. From downtown Dinant, the more sporty can also take the iconic staircase of 408 steps on foot.
The Citadel of Dinant is located in 9 km from the E411 Brussels-Luxembourg motorway, exit 20.

From Dinant, access to the site can be done by road or on foot via the staircase of 408 steps, directly connecting the city center to the fortress.
Good to know: dogs on a leash are allowed on the site.
Access by car, coach or bike is from the top of the site, via the road leading directly to the entrance of the Citadel.
The Citadel has two free parking areas for cars and coaches, as well as a bike rack located at the top of the site.
Charging stations for electric vehicles are also available in the car park.

The Dinant SNCB station is located about 250 meters from the bottom of the Dinant Citadel. Then take the staircase with 408 steps.
This historic staircase takes you directly to the heart of the Citadel and is a popular alternative for visitors staying in the city center.

Important information : Access for people with reduced mobility is only through the Top of the site.
One doorbell is available at the grid (at the level of green cottage) so that a staff member can open you up and facilitate access.
The Citadel being a Historic fortress, some layouts have irregular pavers, areas with marked relief.
Space” Collapsed shelter ” is not accessible to wheelchairs and is not recommended for people with walking difficulties or balance disorders.
