Do you need to make a reservation to visit the Citadel of Dinant?

Booking is not required for individual visitors. Tickets can be purchased online or directly on site. However, for groups and schools, prior reservation is recommended.

How does the visit to the Citadel of Dinant take place?

The visit is free, accompanied by the HistoPad augmented reality tour companion, included in the ticket price. The average length of the visit is around 1.5 hours.

What are the opening hours of the Citadel of Dinant?

The hours vary according to the season. The Citadelle is open all year round, with extended hours from April to September and adapted to winter. Detailed schedules are available on the page Rates & Schedules.

How do I get to the Citadel of Dinant and where can I park?

The Citadel of Dinant is easily accessible by car. Free car and coach parking is available at the top of the site. You can also reach the Citadel by train or on foot from the entrance at the bottom, climbing the famous 408-step staircase. A real challenge rewarded by an exceptional view of the valley.

Is the Citadel of Dinant accessible to people with reduced mobility?

PMR access is only from the top of the site, via the car park at the upper entrance. Due to the historical character of the fortress, some areas remain difficult to access.

Can we eat at the Citadel of Dinant?

Yes, several catering solutions are offered:

  • the restaurant La Citadelle, located at the bottom of the site, at the foot of the stairs,
  • the Les Canons cafeteria, located at the top of the site,
  • a refreshment bar at the entrance of the Citadel.
Are dogs allowed in the Citadel of Dinant?

Yes, dogs are allowed, on a leash, throughout the site.
